A temporary closure will be in place for the male toilets on level 3 of Ernest Rutherford  (SC21) between 6:30 AM, Monday 6 October and 5:00 PM, Tuesday 7 October.

This closure is necessary to allow Facilities Management contractor Airtech to complete remedial fire system works in the ceiling of the Level 3 male toilets as part of the ongoing chilled beam project.

What to expect:

  • Level 3 male toilets will be closed during this time.
  • Signage and barriers will mark restricted areas.

What you need to do:

  • Follow all posted signage and instructions.
  • Do not enter the work zone or attempt to use the toilets.
  • Use male toilets on other levels — they remain open.

Thanks for your cooperation while we complete these required works.

Jack Erskine Fire System Remedial Works 1-10 October

Facilities Management contractor, Contego, will be on site between 1 October and 10 October to carry out passive fire system remedial works in various areas of the Jack Erskine Building.

Most work will take place in plant rooms, which will not affect staff or students. However, some activity will occur in corridors, where contractors may be working at height using ladders. In these areas, sections of the corridor will be coned off to ensure safety.

  • Access will remain available, and staff and students will still be able to pass through these areas.
  • Please follow all signage and take care when navigating around contractors and coned-off areas.
  • Please follow usual evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while these important remedial works are completed.
