Roof Inspection – SS27 Haere-roa – Wednesday 10th September

Facilities Management wish to inform you of a Building Roof Inspection scheduled to take place on Wednesday 10th September.

The purpose of the survey is to complete a visual assessment of the condition of the roof covering.

Photographs are also taken during the assessment to maintain a visual record of the condition of the roof covering at that time.

  • SS27 – UCSA Haere-roa

What will we be doing?

  • Undertaking a visual inspection of the external roof covering.
  • Our Building roof inspection are a visual assessment only, we will take photographs of the building during the assessment, but we will ensure that persons are not identifiable in the photographs.

What do you need to do?

  • Let us know if there is a specific time that we should not enter rooms or spaces.
  • Allow us to come in and view the spaces – we will be quiet.

Building Condition Survey & Floor Inspections – 8th September – 19th September

Facilities Management wish to inform you of the Building Condition Survey & Floor Plan Verification Inspections scheduled to take place between Monday 8th and 19th September.
The purpose of the survey is to complete a full visual assessment of the condition of the interior and exterior of the building.
Photographs are also taken during the assessment to maintain a visual record of the condition of the building at that time.
The purpose of the building floor plan verification is to complete a visual inspection of the building to record any differences to the floor plans that the University currently have on file.

  • SC07 – Beatrice Tinsley
  • SC01 – Len Lye
  • SC01 – West
  • Link between SC01 to SC02
What will we be doing?
  • Accessing all spaces in the building, we will work with you to ensure that we cause the least disruption possible.
  • Undertaking a visual inspection of all rooms and noting any differences to the floor plan that the University have on file.
  • Our Building Condition Surveys are a visual assessment only, we will take photographs of the building during the assessment, but we will ensure that persons are not identifiable in the photographs.

Puaka-James Hight Lift 12 Outage 8 September

Facilitates Management wish to inform you on a Lift Outage scheduled to take place from Monday 8 September

Lift #12, located in the eastern lift bank in Puaka-James Hight, will be out of service from 8am Monday 8 September until 5pm Monday 1 December, while Facilities Management contractors OTIS complete maintenance to Lift #12.

Some key information for staff:

  • OTIS will be commencing in the Eastern End plantroom first.
  • Hoarding will be placed outside Lift 12 on Level 1 and level 11.
  • Lift 10 will be fully functional from Friday 5 September

What do you need to do?

While lifts 12 is out of service for these planned works, and you need to change floors or enter or exit the building:

  • Use an alternative lift.
  • Use the stairs.
  • Follow usual evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency.

This is part of a sequential programme of works to upgrade lift equipment for all lifts in the Puaka-James Hight building, and will be completed over a 12-month period.

Addressing the works one lift at a time, each lift is expected to be out of service for 3 months.
