Water Outage – Meremere Building (LA01) Wednesday 3 December.

Facilities Management Contractors will carry out urgent repairs on the potable water main serving the Meremere Building (LA01) between 7am and 3pm next Wednesday 3 December.

These works are essential to prevent a significant risk of flooding in the basement storage area should the water main fail.

During this time, all potable water services will be unavailable throughout the building. This includes kitchens, cafés, toilets, and showers.

What this means for you

Please plan ahead:

  • Use alternative toilets and kitchen Facilities (level 1 History – AR03)
  • Avoid turning on any taps in the building. If a tap is accidentally turned on, please switch it off immediately to prevent flooding when water is restored.
  • If the outage impacts your work, discuss alternative workspaces or arrangements with your manager.

For any questions, contact fmassist@canterbury.ac.nz.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation while these essential repairs are completed
