Fibre Installation Works: 12-22 August

Facilities Management advise that fibre installation works, to support connectivity to the new Student Centre (Takurua), will take place around the Apollo Construction site on Kirkwood Avenue between Tuesday 12 and Friday 22 August.

 Impacted Areas:

  • Pathway between Kirkwood Ave and the UC Health Centre
  • Warehouse, UC Print (K1), and Recreation Centre carpark

 Key Dates:

  • Phase 1  ​(12-15 Aug):Pathway works including excavation and resealing
  • Phase 2 (18-22 Aug): Works within the Apollo site boundary and underground ducting installation through the Warehouse, UC Print, and Recreation Centre carpark. The work will be underground however carpark access and parking may be temporarily affected.

Please take care around work zones and machinery.

We don’t expect any disruption to the UC networks, but we appreciate your patience if brief interruptions occur.

Risk notification: Window Covering

The following Facilities Management Health and Safety Notification is relevant to all contacts including staff, students, and tenants, occupying working and learning spaces in the UC Campus buildings.

This is an ongoing notification and has no end date.

Building Condition Survey & Floor Plan Verification Schedule –11 August –15 August

Facilities Management Building Surveyors will be completing the Building Floor Plan Inspection and Building Condition Assessment on the Engineering Lecture Theatres building between Monday 11 August and Friday 15 August.

Affected and Adjacent Buildings:

  • EN10 – Engineering Lecture Theatres (E8 & E9)
  • EN01 – Rāta (Blocks B, D, E, F)
  • EN18 – Civil & Mechanical Engineering Block E

The floor plan verification involves a visual check of room layouts to confirm accuracy with existing plans.

The Building survey involves the assessment of building interiors (when vacant) and exteriors. Surveyors may be seen on rooftops and will follow all safety protocols.

Photos may be taken, but individuals will not be identifiable.

To complete these assessments the Building Surveyors will be accessing all spaces within an area or building, so please allow access – they will be very quiet!
