University Drive – Clyde Road Traffic Management 5-19 October

Christchurch City Council advise that the following traffic management will be in place between Sunday 5 October and Sunday 19 October.

Location: Clyde Road entry/exit to University Drive
Time: Daily from 6:00pm to 7:00am
Reason: Roading works on Hinau Street by Higgins Construction

Changes to Traffic Flow

  • Stop-Go traffic management will be in place at the Clyde Road entry/exit.
  • Hinau Street will operate as a temporary one-way system.
  • No entry to Clyde Road from Hinau Street between 6pm and 7am.

What You Need to Do

  • Follow all signage and instructions.
  • Stay alert for any changes in traffic management.
  • Take extra care around road crews and Stop-Go operators.

Building Floor Plan Verification – Wednesday 1 October

The Facilities Management Surveyors will be completing rescheduled Building Floor Plan Verification Inspections between 8.30am 4.30pm Wednesday 1 October in the following buildings:

Affected Buildings

  • FA01 – Fine Arts 1 and 1a
  • FA02 – Fine Arts 2
  • FA03 – Fine Arts 3
  • FA04 – Fine Arts 2a Toilets
  • FA05 – Fine Arts 4 

Purpose:

Facilities Management Surveyors will be conducting visual inspections to identify any discrepancies between current building layouts and the University’s recorded floor plans.

What to Expect:

  • Surveyors will quietly access all spaces within the listed buildings.
  • Minimal disruption is expected.

Facilities Management

Henry Field Strengthening Works – Dovedale Campus

Facilities Management, working alongside Dominion Contracts Ltd, will be commencing strengthening works at Henry Field.

Project Details
The Henry Field strengthening project will begin in October 2025 and is scheduled to run until 12 February 2026.

As part of this work:

  • The full perimeter of the building will be scaffolded.
  • A site compound will be fenced off on the grass adjacent to Henry Field.
  • Pedestrian access along main routes will be maintained.
  • The small walkway to the west of the building will be closed for the duration of the work.

What do you need to do?

  • Plan your pedestrian travel accordingly.
  • Follow all site signage.
  • Note that there will be no access to or through Henry Field, including the linkway to Otakaro.
