Facilities Management Advise that Lift #34 in the Rehua Building is currently out of service due to a faulty door sensor.
We expect resolution of the issue early next week, but please be patient if the repairs take longer.

In what will be a thrilling weekend of quality netball, come down to Ngā Puna Wai (free entry) to watch the top Netball team from each University compete for the final win of the year!
The UTSNZ Shield has a prestigious history, first being unveiled in 1923! UC proudly reclaimed it in 2023, in it’s 100th year, nicely co-inciding with our 150th celebrations. What a way to celebrate! We won it again in 2024, and now we are on the cusp of securing it for a third time, and we need your support!
Across 2025, around 130 student athletes have competed across 8 sports, proudly wearing the UC Maroon and Gold, in a bid to collectively win the UTSNZ shield, and bragging rights, for UC. We’ve had volunteer coaches and managers on the journey, along with UC Rec&Sport staff, providing unwavering support, logistics and leadership for our teams on tour and at home.
We’re currently sitting top of the table, five points clear of Auckland University. The team need to finish top 5 to secure the shield, but we’re betting on them making it to the grand finals – with your help! We’d love to see as many UC supporters down at Ngā Puna Wai this weekend to cheer the team on to victory, and really leverage that home court advantage.
Pool play is Saturday 27th, with games at 10.15am, 12.45pm (livestreamed) and 3.15pm.

There will be a planned electrical outage affecting the listed buildings on Sunday 28 September.
Connetics and UC Electricians will be upgrading the 11kV transformer at the Puaka-James Hight Substation on Sunday 28 September between 6:30 AM – 11:30 PM.
To maintain power to key buildings, and maintain Library opening hours on Sunday, a generator will be installed. This requires two total power outages from 6:30–8:30 AM and then from 9:30–11:30 PM during connection and disconnection of the generator.
Affected Buildings:
• Puaka-James Hight (AS01)
• North Arts LT (AR04)
• Matariki (GS01)
• Okeover (AS01)
FM recommend that people in the affected buildings:
• Power down IT equipment before leaving Friday 27 Sept
• Check UPS systems
• Coordinate specialist equipment shutdown/reset
• Note- FM cannot reset faculty-specific equipment
