For UC staff, Tūpono is a channel for you to post information for our student community.
To log into the Tūpono blog you will need to use your UC credentials:
Getting started
- Log in using your UC username and password: https://blogs.canterbury.ac.nz/insiders/
- Edit your profile:
- On the top right of the screen you should see a link saying “Howdy,” click this, select “Edit My Profile” and make any preferred changes. Only enter the details you’re comfortable with.
- Change “Display name publicly as” to your first name.
- To save your changes, scroll down and select the “Update Profile” button.
General guidelines for submitting your notice:
- All notices need to follow the Guidelines for use outlined here: https://blogs.canterbury.ac.nz/tupono/guidelines-use/
- We encourage use of images in your notice to keep things interesting, but they cannot be larger than 1MB.
- Choose a short, sweet (6 words or less) title to capture the attention of your audience.
- Make use of hyperlinks in your notice. The most effective hyperlinks are when you link a full sentence rather than just one word.
How to create your notice:
- Ensure you’re logged into Tūpono (see above)
- If you experience any issues logging in, please submit a ticket through the IT Services Portal
- Once you have logged in successfully, select + New and then Post from the top of the page. This will take you to the Add new post screen.
- Add a title and the content of your notice in the relevant spaces.
- Add or remove hyperlinks within your notice using the icon indicated below:
- On the right side of the screen you can choose the Categories under which your notice will appear and add Tags. For example, if you’re wanting to advertise a group study session, use the “Student Life” category and make your tags “study group” and the subject you’re studying.
- This will help others find your notice/s.
- If you want to preview your notice at any point during its construction, simply select ‘Preview’ from the right side of the screen under the Publish section.
- Once you’ve finished, select ‘Publish’ and you’re done.
- If you see a ‘Submit for Review’ button instead of ‘Publish’, email communications@canterbury.ac.nz as your profile may be set to ‘Contributor’ rather than ‘Editor’.
If you have any additional questions, please email communications@canterbury.ac.nz
If you’re experiencing any technical issues with the blog space, please submit a ticket through the IT Services Portal
