RecCentre – More Than Just a Gym!

We offer all the traditional gym amenities like modern cardio equipment and weights, but there’s so much more:

  • Over 50 FREE group fitness classes per week, catering to all fitness levels.
  • Social sport leagues for futsal, basketball, volleyball, and netball.
  • Sport courts for squash and pickleball, free to use before 3pm.
  • Free equipment hire.
  • A rock-climbing wall (join the Climbing Club for climbing nights).
  • A boxing room, functional training room, women’s only gym area, and a stretching/yoga room.
  • Massage chairs, hairdryers, and straighteners for after your shower.

All of this is included with your membership, except for social sport leagues (which have a small team fee) and court bookings after 3pm.

How to Activate Your Membership

  1. Register Online: Visit our website and follow the instructions to register using your UC student email.
  2. Download Our App: Find it in your app store.
  3. Activate Your Card: Bring your UC Student ID card to the RecCentre desk, and we’ll activate it for you.

Once activated, explore the app to book classes, discovery sessions, and more!  And of course, remember to wear your sport shoes – we have a strict no shoes, no train policy for your health and safety.

Planned Power Outage- Tupuānuku Tuesday 4 February

There will be a complete power outage affecting Tupuānuku and the Energy Centre between 8.30am and 5pm on Tuesday 4th February.

Facilities Management contractors, Connetics and Southbase, will be completing the installation and connection of a new transformer to support the new Tupuārangi Student Hall.

Please be prepared for this power outage to last approximately eight (8) hours however contractors hope to restore power as quickly as possible.

Those in affected buildings should prepare to be without power for up to eight (8) hours and turn off all computer and other electrical equipment prior to the power outage.
Please remain cautious and aware of construction and utility works in progress.
