Take some time to see what’s happening on campus for Mental Health Awareness Month

Welcome to Week 4 of Mental Health Awareness Month at UC (25-29 September), our theme for this week from the Five Ways of Wellbeing is Tukua | Give.

Acts of kindness not only brighten the lives of those we touch but also elevate our own happiness, life satisfaction, and overall well-being. Helping others provides us with a sense of purpose and belonging, creating a win-win situation for all involved.

Join us in spreading kindness and making a difference in the world, one act of giving at a time. A small gesture might mean everything to someone else, and you’ll get a boost from those feel-good happy hormones, serotonin and dopamine too.

Student and Staff Social Event

Join us for a UC Community social event on 19 September 2023, where you can unleash your knowledge, have lunch, and get active! Everyone is welcome, and there will be kai to share with your colleagues. This event is free and open to all skill levels.

There’s a chance for you to flex brain muscles on Mental Health Awareness in a Kahoot quiz with prizes for each individual who gets 1st, 2nd, or3rd place🏆. Make sure you bring your cell phone to play.

Following this we will get stuck into some social volleyball. Don’t have a team for volleyball? No problem! They will be forming teams of 5-6 on the day, so just register your interest to give an idea of the numbers (this form only needs to be completed for the volleyball)

This event is for everyone!  You can do just the quiz or just the volleyball or both! The quiz starts just after 12 noon in the Ti Kouka Room at Haere-roa and the BBQ with sausages and veggie patties around 12.30pm. Volleyball kicks off at 1pm on the grassed area outside by the amphitheatre.
