From Monday 2 September, the Christchurch City Council will start a significant wastewater upgrade in Ilam that will affect access to and from Ilam Campus.
The works will affect Creyke Road, Clyde Road through to the Maidstone Road / Waimairi Road intersection, and Clyde Road from Hinau Street to Creyke Road, and will be completed in three stages starting Monday 2 September and running until May 2026.
Works Stage 1: 2 September 2024 – December 2025
The initial stage includes work on Clyde and Creyke roads with traffic flowing north one way on Clyde Road and west one way on Creyke Road. See Christchurch City Council’s information here>
How this could affect you:
– No vehicle entry to Creyke Road from the Ilam Road intersection.
– No vehicle entry to Clyde Road from the Clyde Road / Kotare Street intersection.
– Left turn only onto Creyke Road from Montana Avenue, Engineering Road, and Forestry Road.
– On-street parking on Clyde Road and Creyke Road may be reduced.
– University Drive will be closed from Fine Arts Lane to Clyde Road, finishing late September
Regular updates on the project will be communicated here on Tūpono or can be found at ccc.govt.nz/Ilam-wastewater. Please direct any works enquiries to security@canterbury.ac.nz.
