There will be a total heating and cooling outage affecting the Tupuānuku Student Accommodation Building between 11am and 4pm on Tuesday 15 April while contactors install electrical circuit breakers on the switchboard feeding the heating and cooling circuits for the building.

The outage has been scheduled from 11am to ensure that there is a build-up of heating mass to the building and that the work is completed in the period when the most solar gain (heat) is available to students and staff.

Please remain aware that heating and cooling will be unavailable during this period. Students should utilise other Campus facilities, such as the library, if needed during the outage., and ensure that you dress for the weather if in the building.

There will be a complete water outage to UC Warehouse and the Recreation Centre from 8am until 6.30pm on Wednesday 16 April, while Facilities Management Compliance Contractor Aquapro replace the backflow preventers associated with these buildings.

This means that there will be a complete water outage to the listed buildings until the works are completed. Please note that Building Sprinklers are feed from a different supply so these will not be affected.

This outage affects the UC Warehouse and the UC Recreation Centre Buildings (see inset map).

The UC Rec Centre have made the decision to remain closed during the water outage on Wednesday 16 April, however the UC Warehouse will operate as usual .

There will be a complete water outage affecting the Eastern end of Homestead Lane for five (5) hours between 9am and 2 pm on Tuesday 15 April.

​This water outage is required to allow Facilities Management Contractors (Southbase), working on the Tupuārangi student accommodation building, to complete the install and connection of the new water main to the build.

 ​This outage will affect (RE35-RE56) Ilam Apartments, Rochester and Rutherford accommodations, and Ilam Homestead (Staff Club).

​Please remain aware of the planned outage and take care if moving around the works.

If you are located in Rochester, Rutherford, Ilam Homestead or Ilam Apartments, please prepare for a five-hour water outage by ensuring you have drinking water available, including in water bottles or jugs. Shower before or after the outage.

​Do not turn taps on in the building during the outage. If you do, please remember to turn off immediately to avoid flooding.
